Who we are

AI Bedtime Stories is a blog publishing AI-generated bedtime stories, with a small shop offering free AI-generated artwork. Our website address is: https://aibedtimestories.blog. The site is hosted by WordPress.com (Automattic Inc.).

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Comments may be checked through Akismet, an automated spam detection service.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Store, orders and downloads

When you place an order in our shop, we collect your email address, name, and country. We use this to process your order, give you access to your downloads, and send you order confirmations.

We keep a record of your orders, including which files you downloaded and when. Orders placed as a guest are recorded against the email address you provide. If you have an account, this history remains available to you under My Account.

All products in our shop are free digital downloads. We do not collect or store payment card details, and no payment processor is involved in your order.

Cookies

We ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies. Essential cookies — those needed for the shop, comments, and remembering your cookie choice — are always set. Marketing and statistics cookies are only set if you accept them. Your choice is remembered for 30 days, and you can change it at any time using the cookie settings on this site.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies, and several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Advertising and analytics

We advertise this site on third-party platforms. If you accept marketing cookies, we load advertising pixels from our advertising partners, which help us understand which advertisements brought visitors to the site.

If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no advertising cookies are set and no advertising identifiers are stored on your device. Most of our partners’ scripts are not loaded at all. One partner’s tag does load in a restricted mode: it stores nothing on your device, but it does send a basic signal — the page address, your browser type and your IP address — which that partner uses to estimate advertising results in aggregate.

The partners we currently work with, and the cookies each one sets, are listed in the cookie settings on this site. You can review them and change your choice there at any time.

Separately, we use Jetpack to collect basic, aggregated statistics about site traffic, such as page views and the sites visitors arrived from. This does not identify you individually.

Media

If you upload images to this website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

This site is hosted by WordPress.com (Automattic Inc.), which processes data on our behalf as our hosting provider. Their privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.

If you accept marketing cookies, our advertising partners receive data about your visit through their advertising pixels. The current partners, and links to their individual privacy policies, are listed in the cookie settings on this site.

Comments may be checked by Akismet, an automated spam detection service. If you comment, an anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to Gravatar. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Order records, including download history and the name and email address given at checkout, are kept as part of our business records. They are retained even if you later delete your account, because they are essential to operating the shop.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can view and edit your personal information under Account details, and see your order and download history under My Account.

You can delete your account at any time from the Delete Account tab under My Account. This removes your user profile and your ability to log in.

Deleting your account does not erase your past orders. Only data that is not essential to running the shop is removed — order records, including the name and email address given at checkout, are retained as business records.

This is a small personal site and we do not operate a dedicated privacy contact address. If you need something removed that you cannot remove yourself, leave a comment on any post and we will see it.
